Determine What Types of Businesses Would Make a Good Referral Partner for You



A referral partner is another business in a similar industry to your own, which targets the same customers but is not in competition with you, and who shares referrals back and forth with you.


Some examples would be: a realtor and a broker; a bookkeeper and a CPA; a roofer and a solar panel installation company.


Determine what types of businesses would be make good referral partners for you. In general networking, focus on seeking these out, as they will be far more lucrative to you than someone with a friend who might want your services. Additionally, it guards against the need to meet as many random people as possible, which might be your idea of a good time, no judgement. But it’s not the most effective business networking strategy.
